Minors School License
Students who have completed a Drivers Education course but have not yet received their full drivers license may apply for a Minors School License. Students with this license may only drive to and from school. Information regarding this license and the form needed can be found on the DOT site: https://iowadot.gov/mvd/driverslicense/under-18
The form must be signed by a parent/guardian and school official/administrator. Call the Kennedy Main Office at 558-2251 to arrange a time for the administrator to sign the form. You must bring the completed/signed DOT form and drivers permit.
Note: While school is online, to be eligible for a school permit, you must be participating in a current sport/activity that meets in person.
Officer Drew Tran will be at Kennedy High School to go over important guidelines about your school permit and afterwards Jes Johnson, Associate Principal, will sign the required affidavit. This meeting is required for any student applying for a school permit. This will take place outside in front of the school (horse shoe area) Thursday, January 7th at 4pm. Please have the permission form completed and bring your drivers permit. This date will be the only day available to get these forms signed prior to students returning to the building.
