Graduation Requirements

The Cedar Rapids Community School District operates using a semester schedule. Our school year is divided into two (2) 16-week terms: Fall Term and Spring Term. Classes that meet every day earn 1.0 credits/term; classes that meet every other day earn 0.5 credits/term.

We believe that all students deserve the very best educational preparation and opportunities while at Kennedy High School. We encourage all students to complete the requirements in high school that will ensure entrance to college. Enrollment in rigorous classes will increase the chances of keeping all doors open for pursuit of education and career opportunities beyond high school.
